Recently we had a huge outdoor event at church. I mean food trucks, inflatables, ax throwing, laser tag, fireworks! (Huge props to the Hopewell Discipelship Team!) Months of planning and organizing. Hours of prep time before and that day. Everything within their control was planned, mapped and labeled.
Despite all the planning. the rain came anyway. I was reminded that it happens that way some times. We can plan for every detail, but sometimes the circumstances are outside of our control.
As I looked around watching kids slide to hit targets in laser tag and bound through puddles, I saw nothing but smiles. Kids were laughing and running through puddles. Parents were laughing and talking under umbrellas. What a blessing that night was! To see our church family together.
In those moments. God impressed a really cool lesson. The rain will come. But so will the blessings. We can focus on the things we can’t control or choose to look for the blessing in every circumstance.
God is good. ALL.THE.TIME.
